Daily Dose: Cherish Life
With the recent unfortunate events in Toronto (shooting at Eaton Centre, flooding at Union station, etc.), I have to say that I felt a bit guilty for complaining about small mishaps like not getting enough sleep or how hot my room is. I’m sure, though, that I shared a similar sentiment as many of you: that I was, and am, lucky to be here.
Sometimes, life really puts us to the test and bogs us down with a million projects, and a bunch of things go wrong, and people seem to be against us,…and things can start to suck a lot. But in the grand scheme of things – good or bad – this life is all we have. When you realize that, the problems you’re facing might fade a little in comparison with what you’re blessed with, and I hope that comes as a comfort to you.
“So if your life flashed before you,
What would you wish you would’ve done
Yeah, we gotta start
Looking at the hands of the time we’ve been given
If this is all we got and we gotta start thinking
If every second counts on a clock that’s ticking
Gotta live like we’re dying
We only got 86,400 seconds in a day to
Turn it all around or to throw it all away
We gotta tell them that we love them
While we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we’re dying”
